Chefs Lou Lambert + Larry McGuire of Lamberts Downtown Barbecue will be preparing Saturday's barbecue dinner on-site at  El Cosmico, by fire, by smoker, by dutch oven.

Please remember to RSVP by September 18th to info@elcosmico.com for the Saturday Dinner. Dinner is ten dollars per person, served between 6pm-9pm.

1st Annual Marfa Music Festival

-AN EXPLOSION OF SOUNDS- September 22 + 23

Friday begins with music + projections by Adam Bork , followed by The Missing Tapes + Gulf of Mexico. Saturday's show begins at 5pm and ends when the firewood for the dutch tubs runs out- with music by Ethan + Melissa, The Steps, Amy Cook,Chili Cold Blood, Tift Merrit and Lil' Capn' Travis. Dust off your dancing boots.

All Directions Point West to El Cosmico

Continuing The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture  collaboration with El Cosmico, professor Steve Ross (with UT alum Jack Sanders of JWLKR Design Build Adventure) will wrangle a herd of nomadic students, faculty, and alumni and occupy El Cosmico site a week in advance to design/build (brainstorm/improvise) hammock sleeping clusters, outdoor showers, pool-tubs, shade structures and partitions, and possibly a concierge desk/kissing booth. Like kids building forts from a pile of off-the-shelf materials....

Driving Directions to Marfa + El Cosmico

From Austin, Texas

At the U.S. 290 juncture, take the I-10 West U.S. Interstate to exit #248 (228 miles) . At Exit #248 go towards U.S. 67 South/FM. 1776 to Alpine, Texas.  Turn left on FM 1776 (becomes U.S. 67) to Alpine (55 miles). U.S. 67 becomes East Avenue E, continue west through Alpine (East Avenue E becomes West, Avenue E) At the edge of town Avenue E becomes U.S. 90, continue 25 miles to Marfa. At the intersection of U.S. 90 and 67 in Marfa, make a left on U.S. 67/ South Highland Street. Travel approx. 1/2 mile to El Cosmico (on right, corner of West Madrid Street).

Join Us

Groundbreaking Weekend - September 22nd through 24th.  Come spend a few days and nights in the desert communing with well-wishers, hell-raisers and future friends of El Cosmico.  There will be much music and merrymaking.  Barbecue and falafel will be washed down with barrels of beer.  We will pass the bottle around the campfire, and climb on in an outdoor hottub under the big night sky.  More info here soon.
